Storage Inventory and Preservation Department

 The department was created in 1921 from the moment of the museum establishment. It includes 2 sub-departments: Storage Inventory and Preservation. The first one implements the inventory of the museum items preserved in the Gallery, it monitors their movement within the museum and outside the museum, organizes expertise and stamping of the museum items made of precious metals. Controls the procedure of copying in the museum. It carries out the registration and stocktaking of the storages.
The Preservation sub-department implements installation, documentation (journalizing), taking care of the museum items in the storages as well as all the activities related to their preservation by item type: paintings, drawings, engravings, sculptures, various branches of decorative-applied art (fabric, glass, pottery, precious metals, etc.).
